WARTS

Warts are the product of a common virus known in medical terms as the Human Papilloma Virus, or HPV. Also known as the "wart virus", this insidious viral infection can attach itself to any part of the human skin and can be very contagious if proper precautions are not taken.

SKIN TAGS

Skin tags are no more than outgrowths of skin which usually appear around the eyes, neck, groin, upper chest, and armpits. These growths are not dangerous and their removal is quite easy once the techniques are known. As a general rule, skin tags are attached to the body by a small stem, or peduncle, and are not painful unless irritated by rubbing against clothing.

MOLES

Moles are common on nearly everyone and are almost always benign, or noncancerous. Most people will have upwards of 40 moles on their body during the course of their lives. While not particularly dangerous, some moles can become malignant and cause skin cancer which must be properly diagnosed by a health care professional and then removed.

hpv - human papilloma virus

The Human Papilloma Virus, also known as "the wart virus", is a skin infection and, depending on the type of HPV, causes warts on different areas of the body. One type can cause warts on the face or hands, while another type will cause warts on the genital or rectal areas. In all cases, the infection is localized and, unless scratched or transmitted in other ways, will not travel to other areas of the body.
